Go to the Exploratorium's After Dark night, when the hands-on science museum on the Embarcadero is just for adults, with a bar and themed programs. Play with optical illusions, giant bubbles and machines that make your voice weird. Each find the exhibit that blows your mind and show it to everyone else. About this place

Physicist Frank Oppenheimer, the younger brother of J. Robert Oppenheimer, founded the Exploratorium in 1969 as a museum where you learn by touching everything. It moved to Pier 15 in 2013.

Don't miss the Tactile Dome, a pitch-black maze you crawl through by feel alone. It's been there since 1971 and needs its own ticket, so book it separately. After Dark is 18 and up and runs on a regular weekly evening. Check the schedule and buy tickets ahead.
