AmbleBee Missions has no accounts and no ads. Visitor stats are optional, and off unless you say yes. Here is everything that happens with your information.
What stays on your device
- Your ZIP code or city is forgotten when you close the tab, unless you choose "Remember on this device." Then it's saved in your browser until you press Clear. Either way, the site looks it up in your browser, so it's never sent to us.
- Your location is only used if you press "Use my location" and allow it. It stays in the open tab, is only used to work out distances and show the closest ZIP code in the box, and is never saved or sent to us.
- Your preferences (miles or kilometers, plus the name, card theme and sign-off you last used on a card) are saved in your browser so you don't have to re-enter them.
- A card you're writing is saved in that browser tab until the tab closes, so it isn't lost by accident.
- Your answer about visitor stats (yes or no) is saved in your browser so we don't ask again.
Clearing this site's data in your browser removes all of it.
Cards and shared links
When you seal a card, your names and note are packed into the link itself. They aren't stored on a server. They are hidden, not encrypted, so anyone who has the link could read them. Treat a card link like a text message, and don't put anything in it that you'd want kept secret.
Links to a list of missions
Your filters and search words go in the page address, so you can share a list or refresh without losing it. Your ZIP, city and location are never included.
Visitor stats (Google Analytics)
We'd like to know which missions and pages people actually use, so we can make more of the good ones. The first time you visit, we ask whether you're OK with being counted. Until you say yes, Google Analytics isn't loaded at all and nothing about your visit goes to Google.
We know not everyone loves Google Analytics, and that's fair. Saying no costs you nothing: every mission works exactly the same either way. If you do say yes, here's what it really gives us: which packs people open, whether more of you are out on dates or adventures, and roughly which states and cities the missions are being used in. That's how we decide where to write the next pack, which missions deserve a second look, and where to spend our time. We're a small team making this for the people who actually use it, and these numbers are the closest thing we have to hearing from you. If you'd like to reach out to us directly, we'd love that even more. Just visit our contact page.
If you say yes:
- Google Analytics sets a cookie so it can tell a returning visitor from a new one, and records which pages you open, a few actions by name only (opening a mission, sealing a card, picking date or adventure, and opening one of our forms), roughly where you are (city or region, worked out by Google from your connection), your type of device and browser, and which site sent you here.
- We only send the page itself. Your ZIP code, city, location, search words, filters and the contents of any card are never sent.
- Google says Google Analytics 4 doesn't log or store IP addresses. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off, and the detailed data is kept for 2 months, the shortest option.
- We only see totals and charts, like how many people opened a pack this week. We never see who you are, and nothing is used for ads. Google's privacy policy applies to what it collects.
You can change your mind any time. Saying no stops the counting and removes the Google Analytics cookies from this browser.

Forms
"Suggest a mission" and "Report a problem" open Google Forms. Whatever you enter goes to Google and to us, and Google's privacy policy applies. Your name appears on a mission only if you asked to be credited. Please don't send sensitive personal details.
Hosting and other sites
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may log visitors' IP addresses for security, as its own privacy policy describes. Our fonts are hosted with the site, so loading a page doesn't contact Google unless you've said yes to visitor stats.
Links to maps, places and GitHub take you to other sites with their own privacy policies.
Children
Missions can be fun with kids, but the site is meant for grown-ups to use. Children shouldn't send us their personal details through the forms. If you think a child has, please tell us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top will change too. The full history is public on GitHub.
