Portrait Night

Portrait night at home. Draw each other in 20 minutes, no erasing, then title and sign it.

Sit across from each other with paper and whatever you have: pencils, markers or paint. Set a 20-minute timer and draw each other, no erasing allowed. When time's up, give your portrait a title, sign and date it, and do a dramatic gallery reveal. The photo to get: each of you holding up the portrait of yourself, next to your face.

Try a warm-up round of blind contour drawing: draw each other without looking at your paper, in one continuous line, for one minute. The results are hilarious, and it loosens up your hand for the real one.

You don't have to be good at drawing. The funnier the portrait, the better the story. Keep them, and do it again in a year to see how you've "improved."
