Rooftop Sunset Drinks

Rooftop sunset drinks. Find a west-facing rooftop, order something new, watch the sun go down.

Find a rooftop bar, terrace or restaurant near you with a view toward the sunset, and get there about 45 minutes early so you can grab a good spot. Each order a drink you've never tried, then put your phones away and watch the sky change. Get one photo of the two of you against the glow before it's gone. Many rooftops take reservations for sunset, so check ahead.

Look up the exact sunset time for your town that day; it changes by a minute or two each day. The best colors often come 10 to 20 minutes after the sun disappears, so don't leave right away.

Over an open horizon, like an ocean, watch the very last bit of sun: once in a while you'll see a quick "green flash," a trick of the light that lasts only a second or two.
