Order for Each Other

Order for each other at a local spot. Pick something they'd never choose, then rate it.

Head to one of your local haunts, like a favorite café, bakery, taco stand or little shop, and make one rule: each of you picks something for the other person to try, food, a drink or a small item, that they would never order for themselves. Keep your choices secret until they arrive. Taste, react honestly, and explain why you picked what you did. Rate each pick out of 10, and get a photo of you holding the surprise picks. Bring a friend or the kids and everyone picks for someone else.

Good picks are surprising but not mean: a pastry with a flavor they've never tried, a drink in a color they'd never order, a spicy level one notch above their usual. If you're stuck, ask the staff for the most underrated thing on the menu.

It works anywhere with a counter: bakeries, taco stands, bubble tea shops, candy stores. Keep score over time and see who's the better picker.
